Just a thought

What is fear?

Fear is ice.
Freezing every vein, artery, muscle
Turning life inanimate
to that of a statue.

We have been blessed with amazing technological progress - the spread of ideas, thoughts, values, has been made incredibly easy by the development of international post, television, radio and, even more so, Internet. Through social networking sites, business sites, etc, we have the full capability to express ourselves and influence humankind near and far.

So how come our relationships are taking a hit? Should we not be making progress in outreach with all these new-fangled tools at our fingertips?

The answer is fear. We are afraid to expose ourselves, to admit to the public that we, as individuals and collectives, have entirely different opinions on how to run things than our authorities, our parents, our educators. We are afraid to connect with each other. We are afraid to commit to change, to progress with knowledge.

If I know something is morally incorrect and have the ability to influence the reverse of what is taking place - who am I to ignore that which is corrupt? What kind of human being knows the suffering of others, watches the suffering of others, and does nothing? We have the capability to make a stand, to incorporate the knowledge we have gained and the resources placed before us to encourage a stronger standing community - local and global.

Change can be made so simple just be taking advantage of technology. We know what is wrong, so let's shout it out! Let's spread awareness, but not only that, let's take assertive action!

 - Yet fear holds us back. Crippling, confining fear.
How do we disable the dis-abler?

The renown "just do it" tactic is a must. We need to take risks to take a stand. Once we shove fear aside, we can reach out to our brethren. Then love, Perfect Love, God's Love, is free to work in our lives. His Love is so necessary to defeat fear. Only through God - God through us - can we find the root of terror, sever it, and jump-start society to get in gear and match the progress of technology.

But first, take the risk.

I am.
